Will Gardner Minshew FIll in the shoes of Anthony RIchardson

Will Gardner Minshew FIll in the shoes of Anthony RIchardson

Is Gardner Minshew good enough to replace Anthony Richardson and help the Colts win?  I honestly think he’s going to be good enough to make us not struggle but bad enough to where we won’t win. Gardner has always been someone to be a good backup but not always a good starter. When Anthony Richardson got hurt in

Second quarter Gardner came into the game and threw for 171 yards on 23 attempts and 19 completions with a passing touchdown. With rushing for 3 yards on 2 carries. He did well passing but the rushing attack was definitely worse without Richardsons’ athleticism. Gardner has way more experience which is why I think he will reasonably do a good performance, but may not score a win for the team. No doubt it will show good efforts.  He might surprise a lot of people, which I’m hoping for. In his rookie year, he threw for 470 attempts and 285 completions with 3,271 yards, 21 touchdowns, and 6 interceptions. This shows he has been a great reliable quarterback in the past. He’s 6’1 and  225 pounds and is decently quick on his feet. So I think if he wanted to or needed to he could be a decent rusher. I feel like he just doesn’t want to push himself over the limit too much and risk his health and possible performance by getting injured and considering his age, which may also be a factor. In the past, Gardner has had multiple fractures in his throwing hand in which case may cause issues for him if he overdoes it and injures himself. Overall I feel like Gardner Minshew is going to be a good replacement for Anthony Richardson who is injured at the current moment. I feel like this gives Gardner the chance to step up his game and also get to show other teammates that he is a valued asset to the team. In conclusion, this gives Richardson the time he needs to heal properly without being rushed back onto the field. With that being said Gardner also gets his playing time on the field and to build confidence.
