The official start of the Purdue PolyTechnic wrestling team season

Today marks the first practice of the Purdue PolyTechnic highschool wrestling team, and we are looking at a very exciting season. The techies are starting off the new season with a new head coach, Coach Kumar (Ranvir Sandu). He is excited to announce that this will be our team’s second year in the state series and will be returning 12 of the 14 weight classes this season. I would also like to inform fellow techies that the Purdue Poly wrestling team are 5x Conference Champs and are looking forward to defending that title.

“I am absolutely thrilled for this upcoming season, the off-season workouts have been absolutely outstanding, and I couldn’t be prouder of the progress we’ve made ” strong words from Coach Kumar, really expressing the amount of work that the coaches have put into our fellow Techies. Speaking of coaches, we are incredibly fortunate to have Coach Wilson join our staff, his remarkable achievements including being a two-time IHSAA state champion and competing at the Olympic level. “He is a true inspiration for everyone and a wealth of knowledge that we can all learn from”- Coach Kumar.

I would also like to inform you that this will be our second upcoming year for our Girls Wrestling team. Speaking of which, our fellow Katelynn Hernandez had an exciting match resulting in her 4th place finish for state and Javier price, she was one match away from state. “I cant contain my excitement for this year’s girls wrestling season, with another year of experience under their belts, I have no doubt that our team will reach new heights” words of a great coach, as the season grows closer Coach Kumar embarks on his first season as head coach he is filled with enthusiasm.

” Our primary focus this season is to build a strong culture, rooted in the belief that families win championships, this philosophy resonates deeply with me because although wrestling might seem like an individual sport, we must remember that the support of our loved ones, as well as our fans in the stands and on the sidelines propels us forward, we are destined for greatness, together I am confident that we will achieve incredible things this year, let’s make this an unforgettable season!.” -Ranvir Sandhu
