Recap of the first week of baseball

Recap of the first week of baseball

Week 1 of fall baseball just wrapped up and the team did pretty well winning both games 11-2 and 7-2. The teams are just a bunch of kids from different schools.

Coach Donald Baker said the team looked good but we needed to work on being better teammates and hitting the ball. A bunch of players came out to play that hasnt played in a long time.

Players need to come out to play because it is a good opportunity to show the coaches their skills and why they deserve the spot they are playing at. “The guys are training and it’s a test to see where people are in terms of skill.”

We play at either Rhodius Park or Forest Manor at any time between 10:00 A.M. and 2:00 P.M. Last Sunday we played at Rhodius Park and crushed the opposing team at Rhodius Park. It was a pretty easy game, our team was playing well all around, but like I stated earlier, we need to work on our hitting. Coach Donald stated, “ The other team was not good whatsoever and they weren’t worth my time. It would have been better if we scrimmaged an inter-squad.”

We didn’t play to the best of our abilities last Sunday and we hope to turn that around at our next two games this upcoming Sunday.

Overall the team looked good but could use some improvement we also want a tougher opponent so that we will have a bit of a challenge.
