The Purdue Polytechnic Football team has added some new coaches to the team for the upcoming season. They are looking to improve from the 3-6 record last season and the changes made by Coach Chang might just do that. Since there are 5 coaches that were unable to return

for this season for various reasons Coach Chang has found and persuaded 3 new coaches to join Purdue Poly Football. “We currently have a new offensive/defensive line and strength Coach Urbahn Rosas, he’s an army guy that’s coming from Texas and is stationed in Indiana for 3 years, a young and energetic guy who I think is great for our program,” said Coach Chang. Chang’s number one goal last season was to build a better team culture and so bringing in an army guy could definitely help grow that goal.“We also have Coach Grover and Coach Jack who both came from Christel House; Coach Grover is the disciplinary specialist at Harshman Jr. High and he’s been really good with the kids and Coach Jack has definitely been a dependable guy on and off the field,” said Coach Chang. Since the team lost 5 coaches this offseason there were a bunch of holes to fill, especially at defensive line and linebacker; and that is where the second year head coach targeted this offseason. “Coach Rosas has already done a great job with our strength program/weight room and I think he will continue to do great with that while also helping with the offensive/defensive line. Coach Grover and Coach Jack have done a great job of buying in and giving investment  to both of our running backs and linebackers.”

Chang stated when asked how the new coaches will contribute to the team this upcoming season. While adding to the depleted coaching staff helps, will it be enough? “The coaches that are unable to return this year are Mike Hobbs (Qbs), Chance Mason (Wr/Dbs), Eric James (OL/DL), Max Cone (OL/DL), and Shaad Smith (Rbs). I think that it is tough losing them because they were consistent figures to the kids and they had close ties to PPHS.” said Coach Chang Only time will tell whether or not these losses will negatively affect the team but there is definitely an excited buzz in the locker room for the newest additions to the Purdue Poly Football staff.
