The PPHS football team collected thier first win of the season this past Friday against Christel House at Manuel. Star quarterback, Solomon Livinston, had four total touchdowns throughout the game, while elite running back Jonquil Muse had a rushing touchdown and 115+ yards on the ground. After the game, Mr. Muse was asked how he thought the game went and he said, “We executed properly and fixed some of the mistakes from last game which helped us grab the dub. I got my first sack of the season and I rushed for over 100 yards!”

A big issue from the loss against Shortridge week 1 was the penalties the PPHS team acquired throughout the game. They received 16 penalties for a total of 91 yards but they straightened it out this past week by only having 4 penalties for 18 yards. Meanwhile, on the other side of the ball, the defensive played lights out. “I think we played very well and had a complete performance as a team. Our defense stepped up a couple of times in the second half of the game when the offence sputtered and definitely came in clutch,” said Solomon Livingston when asked about his opinions on the game.

The PPHS defense held Christel House to just 16 points while Solomon Livingston and Eli Hannon added an interception each to their resume. Imanuel Edwards led the team in tackles (8) while him and Jonquil Muse each had two TFLs (Tackle for loss). While this amazing performance is to be applauded, the PPHS Football Team plays a tough Cardinal Ritter team next week on Friday at 7pm @Howe. This will be the first real test for this young team to see how they can compete against a team with years of experience behind their belt.
